Founded in 1900 in St. Paul, Minnesota by Walter Rasmussen
to meet the needs of the expanding business sector, the school
has grown to include campuses across the nation and a comprehensive
online program. Rasmussen awards undergraduate degrees, diplomas,
and certificates in a range of in-demand fields. The College
has programming online, on-campus and blended learning to
meet the scheduling needs of busy students.
Students have access to 24/7 support. Online students are
eligible for free virtual tutoring. Online students take classes
with a "learn at your convenience" structure, allowing
them maximum flexibility in scheduling.
Academic Programs
The College offers a wide range of online, on-campus and
blended learning opportunities. Rasmussen's academic programs
are organized around the following schools:
- School of Allied Health – Courses
are designed to teach the theories and practice critical
for success in the health care field. Individuals are prepared
for entry-level positions in a variety of medical settings.
Study tracks include: healthcare management; exercise science;
health information technician; massage therapy; medical
lab technician; medical administration; medical assisting;
medical transcriptionist; medical office management; pharmacy
technician, surgical technologist; and medical coding.
- School of Business – Rasmussen
notes that its business school curriculums have been developed
in consultation from industry experts and professional coursework
designers to best align studies with the demands of the
business community. Study options include: accounting; business
administration; human resources; management; marketing;
sales; internet marketing; call centers; entrepreneurship;
office management; and more.
- School of Education – Students
can pursue studies in child development, early childhood
education, and childcare specialist.
- School of Justice Studies – The
online criminal justice degree programs have been designed
in conjunction with legal and criminal justice experts.
Students are prepared for entry-level positions in the justice
system. Studies can include: criminal justice; corrections;
homeland security; investigation; law enforcement; human
services; paralegal; and more.
- School of Nursing – Degrees and
a diploma offered ready students for careers as Licensed
Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Professional Nurses.
- School of Technology and Design –
Rasmussen reports that the curriculums in this school are
constantly reviewed, evaluated and updated to ensure that
students receive an education that meets the needs of industry
employers. Study alternatives for students include: digital
design and animation; game and simulation production; internet
marketing; computer information technology; database administration;
IP telephony; network administration; network security;
web programming; web design; embedded systems; and IT certifications
including those from Microsoft and CompTIA.
Financial Aid
There is a financial aid program to suit almost every need.
We're here to make this process easy to understand and as
stress free as possible for you. Each campus has a Financial
Staff who will work with you to clarify scholarship opportunities,
help with required paperwork, and make sure you get the maximum
assistance for which you qualify. There are essentially 3
types of aid available to Rasmussen students: 1. State &
Federal student loan programs 2. Gift Aid (Grants) 3. Employment
(Workstudy or Part-time jobs to cover living expenses) You
may be eligible to receive State or Federal financial assistance
in the form of student loans or grants. Rasmussen College
uses the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
to determine award amounts. These forms are available at the
College.
