Skilled software engineers -- the people who develop complex,
large-scale software systems -- are in great demand. The Software
Engineering major at Champlain College has been assembled
from the ground up by professional software engineers to give
you extensive knowledge and training in the science and techniques
of software engineering. Champlain's program—the first
in New England to offer an SE degree—will prepare you
as no other program can to succeed in this challenging field.
Your degree will prepare you to work in both Windows- and
UNIX-based environments with development tools from industry
leaders such as Oracle, Microsoft, Borland, Rational and IBM.
You will learn soft skills such as team development strategies,
software project management, configuration management and
technical writing and go a long way toward preparation for
IEEE’s new Certified Software Development Professional
examination. You will also gain advanced knowledge of C++,
Java and Microsoft’s .NET architecture.
Requirements
The accelerated degree programs and courses are designed for
non-traditional students (24 years of age or older) who have
significant life or work experience beyond high school.
