The Colorado Tech Online Bachelor of Science in Accounting
is designed to teach students to develop critical problem-solving
skills in accounting and management. They will also enhance
their skills in communication, decision-making, mathematics
and lifelong learning. The program also focuses on how to
work within the guidelines of Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles and professional ethical codes.
Topics covered in this 15-month* Bachelor's degree program
include the principles of corporate accounting, taxation,
governmental and not-for-profit accounting and auditing. The
Colorado Tech Online Bachelor of Science in Accounting also
includes five résumé-enhancing Professional
Certificates students will earn incrementally throughout the
program.
Students completing this degree program will be able to apply
the knowledge and skills of accounting, management, business
mathematics and the liberal arts to identify, formulate, resolve
and communicate relevant accounting issues. Successful graduates
will be equipped to pursue such careers as: Budget Analyst,
General Accountant, Internal Auditor, Cash Management Officer,
Loan Officer, Tax Auditor and many other in-demand positions.
*The 15-month Bachelor's degree is a 2+2 program
and assumes that all Associate-level requirements have been
met through an Associate degree or the equivalent. Colorado
Tech Online students with no previous college experience can
complete this program in about 2½ years.
Requirements
Applicants to Colorado Tech Online's Bachelor's degree programs
must hold a high school diploma or GED. Applicants to our
Master's degree programs must hold a Bachelor's degree.
