IWU has been a cornerstone of academic
excellence for over 80 years and IWUOnline, as featured in U.S.
News and World Report, is one of the nation's premier yet affordable
online universities.
An IWUOnline education is not self-paced, nor is it like a correspondence
course. All courses that are part of our online degree programs
have scheduled beginning and end dates and are from six to eleven
weeks in length.
Courses are presented in an "asynchronous" learning
format and use the Blackboard® system to provide the coursework
for each workshop. "Asynchronous" means that your
online classroom participation is neither time nor place dependent.
Asynchronous learning is perfect for individuals who have
very busy work and personal lives. One of the barriers prohibiting
many working adults from going to college is the requirement
to be in a particular place at a particular time. The online
delivery method provides the same content as a traditional
classroom, but in a far more efficient manner. Most individuals
who have tried online learning prefer it to traditional learning
methods.
Each workshop within the course has deadline dates assigned
for your classroom activities and as an IWUOnline student
you are expected to participate in the online classroom on
a regular basis. When assignments are due, you send them to
the instructor electronically via the Blackboard® system.
Instructors grade your papers, provide feedback and comments,
and keep you informed of your status. IWUOnline is designed
to provide you with a convenient and practical way to achieve
your educational goals.
Many colleges and universities offer online courses. However,
very few can match the combination of quality, value, and
convenience that IWUOnline can offer.
Accreditation
IWUOnline is a member of the North Central Association of
Colleges and Schools (NCA) and is fully accredited by the
Higher Learning Commission. Regional Accreditation is the
highest level of academic accreditation a university can obtain
and is recognized throughout the United States and the world.
