Good experience at DeVry |
| Business Administration |
| I have really enjoyed my experience with DeVry, although it is expensive I
believe that you can get an excellent quality education.
I have also had my issues with the finance department, but with a little
patience I was able to get past them in a timely manner. Weather you are in
a state school, or community college you will always run into finance
issues that is just the nature of it all. I am also a firm believer in you
get what you pay for.
I do my classes online because its easier for my hectic lifestyle as a
military wife and mother who is constantly moving around the country. I can...Read Full Review |

Flexible and great overall experience |
| Bachelor of Science in Business Administration |
| The coursework mainly consisted of quizzes and exams, readings, written
homework based on the readings, projects, and online threads
(postings/chats). Every Sunday, the following week's coursework would open.
For the online threads, we could post a minimum of three times a week and
it had to be every other day at least so that it was spread throughout the
week.
There were usually 2 or 3 different threads per class per week that asked
questions and you had to respond and then respond to your classmates' and
professors' responses.
The exams were timed as we had specific software installed ...Read Full Review |

Good online school |
| Computer Engineering Technology |
| I enrolled at DeVry in Summer 2005 and graduated in 2008. It took me a
little over 3 years to complete my degree in Computer Engineering
Technology. After I graduated, I interviewed with a couple of companies
including Northrop, Lockheed, Naval Research ($62,000) and Epson. To be
honest with you, most companies tried to shoot me down just because I was a
DeVry graduate. However, that didn?t stop me. There were some questions
that I was unable to answer but I?m not perfect. After interviewing with
over 10 companies, I decided to settle down and take a position as a
Software Engineer for an Aero...Read Full Review |

Learning something new every day |
| Project Management Certificate |
| I recently completed a Master's certificate in Project Management. Having
worked around Project Management principles for years I wanted to beef up
my resume and learn the details. I didn't know what to expect but quickly
enrolled and started my first classes. I enjoyed the structure of the
online format. There were really no questions I had as things were clearly
explained in the class. I knew what was expected of me so I knew what I
would need to do to complete the course on time and with a good grade. The
required readings and assignments are relevant to the industry. They made
me th...Read Full Review |

| Programming |
| after completing my 4 year degree focused on programming (3.8 gpa), i am
still unable to get even an entry level position in the programming field
due to lack of "depth of knowledge". they may show the basics but thats
where it ends.
currently classes are in 8 week sessions and 2 sessions make up a
semester.
you may meet once or twice a week at the most for upto 2 hours of
instruction (most classes leave early) 8-16 hours worth of lecture and
simple assignments just dont cut it. (it also doesnt matter if the
assignment is correct, just the fact that you turned "something" in counts
as fu...Read Full Review |

Devry University |
| Electronics engineering |
| I made the mistake of attending Devry.
Like most of the students there, I honestly busted my ass off going every
night with a job during the day. After about a year and 17k in tuition
fees, I started to ask around. I asked friends of friends who either were
well established in their field or had HR positions. Honestly they all told
me, at first, to keep working and study hard. After some time and more
questions from me, they finally expressed to me that they don't hire Devry
graduates. One friend told me,"I didn't want to hurt your feelings, you
looked like you were enjoying Devry." In whic...Read Full Review |

Been great for me |
| Bachelors in Networking |
| Since I'm in the military and either move every so often or am deployed
fighting, I find DeVry to be very beneficial to my lifestyle. I’m currently
taking all 400 levels courses and find them challenging. They are all
networking courses and yet I have been a wide area network controller for
nearly 12 years; I still find them challenging. I will agree that some
students slip through the cracks and manipulate the online discussion.
However, when I have brought this to the attention of the professor or
other officials, the situation has always been resolved. One last note, if
you want to give you...Read Full Review |

Expensive but well worth it |
| Bachelors in Business |
| My experience taking classes online at DeVry was very good. I would do it
again if I had the opportunity. Sure, there were a few technical glitches,
but just minor stuff that should be expected.
Communication was good, the class forums are especially helpful, as well as
email with classmates.
The material was challenging enough to learn, without being unfair. You can
figure it all out if you put the work into it.
It seems that some people take online classes because they think it will be
some kind of shortcut to an easy degree, but this is not the case. You must
put as much time and e...Read Full Review |

Poor administration |
| Hospitality |
| I've just completed my first session at Devry in Nashville and I was
extremely dissapointed and will not be attending any more sessions. When I
first started this journey to finish my degree I was pleased that Devry
offered the major I wanted and I could take the courses online. HA!! Once I
signed all the paperwork then they told me "Oh you have to attend a course
onsite once a week" this is not what I signed up for with my schedule and
it seems that they just needed warm bodies to fill the seats unfortunately
there was only 5 of us in the class. I said ok, not knowing the exact same
thing I d...Read Full Review |

Not a good choice for college after high school |
| Telecommunications |
| I unfortuantly was sucked into this school, mainly because I didn't know
what I wanted to do after high school. I went to DeVry for almost 2 years
studying telecommunications before I realized what a waste it was. At first
I must admit that I really enjoyed it, as I was learning new things. It was
after a year though that I realized I was getting a sub-par education
compared to my friends from high school who were all going to traditional
schools. Also, your peers will more than likely be a lot older than you who
are just looking to go back to school, it's not a very friendly environment
for t...Read Full Review |

Good program |
| Computer Information Systems |
| I'm only in my 3rd week at DeVry, but it's been challenging and
interesteing so far. I really like the flexibility of the schedule and the
work is not too difficult if you study and devote some time to researching
other topics in the threaded discussions that aren't mentioned in the
readings or lecture. So far it's been good, but I do agree with others that
each class may be different depending on the instructor and classmates
(more challenging if there are people in there that really know their
stuff, or too easy if the majority of people are just starting out). I'm
already working in my degr...Read Full Review |

Fast paced |
| Electronics & Computer Technology |
| I graduated from DeVry back in Feb. of this year with an AS in the ECT
program. When I first started a few years ago, my class was packed with
students, mostly just out of High School. I was the old guy in the bunch,
which made things interesting. By the end of the second week, about half
the class had dropped out or transferred to another program. There is a
pretty good explanation for this. Either they were directed into the
program by a bad advisor, as mine was, or just weren't ready for the amount
of work that was being thrown at them. I originally wanted to get me BA in
Electronics Engine...Read Full Review |
