Pros and Cons |
| Bachelors in Management |
| I am in my very last term and I graduate with my bachelor's degree in a
month. Here is an overview of my experience at Kaplan:
Pros:
1. The teachers were very well educated. Each course I had enrolled in,
they have virtual seminars where the teacher would have to introduce
themself and they would talk about their teaching background and
credentials and alot of my teachers had PhDs. One of my teacher was a
professor from Harvard University and taught for Kaplan part time to make
extra income.
2. The courses were challenging but doable. Kaplan offers many online
resources for tutoring...Read Full Review |

Rigorous, effective and informative |
| Masters in Higher Education |
| I am in a graduate program at Kaplan for a master's of Science in Higher
Education, Student Services. I completed my undergraduate education at
traditional community colleges and universities.
I have found the program at kaplan to be quite rigorous, effective and
informative. My instructors have all been pretty fantastic, even going so
far as to be professional references and mentors. I have nothing but praise
for them.
As far as financial aid/student accounts, I have had no problems. I applied
for and received federal Stafford loan to pay for my education and have
only had one problem. ...Read Full Review |

KAPLAN IS A MODERN DAY SCAM |
| NUTRITION |
| I am a former student at Kaplan and I would implore new student to research
other online schools because Kaplan is horrible. Most of the teachers only
have a bachelors degree and let me remind you, you pay top dollar to got to
Kaplan. Even when you borrow student loan to buy your books they will not
give you the additional money you borrowed, they will hold on to your money
and I know that is illegal because I have gone to traditional college
before and once your school fee is paid they have to give you the remainder
of your loan. Their teacher are not qualified and I know you get a mediocr...Read Full Review |

Kaplan University |
| BSBA |
| I just graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Business Management from
Kaplan University. I attended this school for four years. My education was
decent and the teachers and classmates were excellent. I enjoyed that the
Profs had real-life experience that they drew from and many truly wanted
students to succeed and be educated. Hats off to them for their excellent
work!
The problem in Kaplan’s accounting practices and financial aid
administration…or lack there of as the case may be. I truly believe this
organization to be FRAUDULENT in their accounting roles when it comes to
handling student...Read Full Review |

Education Wonderful; Administrative Support... Questionable |
| BS of Science in Health and Wellness |
| I must first state that Education-Wise, Kaplan is great! The Professors are
overall pretty awesome! However, the rest of Kaplan's faculty should take
note from the professors. To say the least the rest of the faculty has a
hard time with inter-department communication. Every phone line is
automated and wait times to actually talk to a Kaplan representative
(regardless of the department) are outrageous! The financial aid
department is TERRIBLE! I have literally received 20+ calls on the same
situation DESPITE the fact that my "plans are noted" and when I inform the
representative calling me I ...Read Full Review |

Read the fine print and take heed! |
| On-line case management course |
| I thought this course might be a good thing for my career. I did not have a
job when I signed up and when I got a job I had no time for the course. I
let them know. They waited until after 60 days to write me. When I said I
had no time they withdrew me from the course and said financial aid would
contact me. Yes- they contact you to pay the bill in full. So I did a one
month course for a bit under $4,000.00. I say - go to a real school. This
place is only in it for the money. They do not care about people at all.
"Run, Forrest (insert name), Run!" I am going to do my best to let people
know ...Read Full Review |

Disabilities Problems |
| BS in Communcations Tech writing |
| I have a learning disability and contacted the disability center. I proved
that I needed rasonabil accomadations for all my classes. Some of my
professors understood and went the extera mile and others did not. Beware
of the difficult professors and not understanding the capability of your
disability. |

Horrible- Absolutely Awful |
| GMAT |
| I wouldn't even give it a star. I went to class and the instructor never
showed! I waited around for 40 min, until finally another instructor said
she would contact my instructor and get back to me. I've been on hold now
with customer service for 45 min- one of which put me through voicemail.
All I can get is that maybe my class was cancelled, but I was never
informed.
I would look at other prep courses. I do not look forward to the mess of
the reimbursement of my credit card..... or the re-scheduling of my GMAT
for $50 because they decided to cancel and not tell me. (And yes, I did
call b...Read Full Review |

I HATE KAPLAN |
| SCIENCE |
| I WOULD TELL ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GO TO KAPLAN RUN IT'S A BUNCH OF BULL SHIT
THEY ARE SO OVER PRICED FOR THE EDUCATION THAT THEY PROVIDE THEY TELL YOU
WHAT THEY THINK YOU WANT TO HEAR THEN AT THE END YOU WILL FIND OUT IT IS
BULLSHIT. THE ONLY THING THEY ARE GOOD AT IS FALSE INFORMATION AND TO
CONTACT SOME NOT ALL PROFESSORS IT WILL TAKE DAYS TEH SAME WITH YOUR
ADVISORS. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STUDENTS NEEDS AS LONG AS YOUR MONEY IS
PAID THEY DON'T CARE THEY OVER PAID ME SOME LEFT OVER MONEY MONTHS LATER
WHEN IT'S TIME TO COMPLETE MY DEGREE THEY SAY I HAVE A BALANCE DO BUT IT
WAS THEIR MISTAK...Read Full Review |

Horrible customer service |
| CFP program |
| When signing up for Kaplan - they treat you like royalty. Immediate call
backs, istantaneous form requests, gushy nice phone reps. After signing up
you will NEVER be able to speak to anyone in customer service or your
counselor again. Hold times are infinite ( I usually quit after 45
minutes) You can leave a message or send an email that will never be
answered. At this time I have been trying to get a hold of them for three
months needing info about my account and the program. |

NClex Exam |
| Kaplan Test Prep |
| I had already taken the exam twice. Kaplan is wonderful. The questions
are more NClex based than the previous review I had done. I would advise
anyone to take this review. It is wonderful. I passed. |

After Enrollment |
| Criminal Justice |
| My enrollment adviser was great; however, when my text books were sent
while I was on vacation (they knew I was going to be on vacation) - no one
was willing to help or even provide information so I could have books
before my classes start. Instead, I got passed around from person to person
for 2 days. I don't recommend Kaplan University to anyone. After you're
enrolled, there is no one there for support. It's almost like being set up
for failure. |

Decent school, bad administration |
| Communication |
| I went to Kaplan for 2 terms. All my instructors were great but I don't
have anything good to say about my advisors. Before I was admitted, I was
told that any credits that I had from an accredited university should
transfer. The key word here is "should". Of course, the majority of my
credits did NOT transfer. I think that they also try to intice you by
saying that it only costs $320 per credit hour. Those who are used college
courses being 3 credit hours think, what a bargain and then later in their
pitch they tell you their courses are 5 to 6 credit hours making you feel
like you are gettin...Read Full Review |

They couldnt keep up |
| Management |
| I wish I could say Ive had a positive result with Kaplan. There are some
nice people there, but right off the bat, I noticed that their inter
department communication was very poor. I changed my degree because my life
situation was changing rapidly during their aggressive persuit of my
joining them. I had lost my job, and thought school would be a good way to
teach myself a new career. However, I found a job out of the blue, that
started to provide some new opportunities, so I switched my degree. This
totally overwhelmed their organizational skills, and everything fell apart.
I stopped getting...Read Full Review |

Working out great! |
| Buisness administration |
| I am in my 6th term with Kaplan. I work full time and have a family.
Attending an online school is the only way I could reaonably get my degree.
I checked into local schools that have online programs but you can only
take certain classes at certain times and it would have taken me years to
finish. I am almost halfway done with my Associate's Degree after one
year. I work with someone who will be finishing their Associate's Degree
this summer from a local traditional college after 5 YEARS of classes!
The classes are pretty easy at first but they do get harder and the whole
thing is you ha...Read Full Review |

Great School, but worried about degree recognition |
| BS in Legal Studies |
| So far Kaplan has fit my needs for school. It is flexible and lets me work
independently which is my preference. I have not had any issues with
financial aid, billing, etc, everything in that area was just as expected
and outlined prior to enrolling.
As for support my Academic Advisor calls all the time, too often for my
liking to follow up and make sure everything is going well. There is a lot
of support from the administration.
My only concern is whether or not my BS in Legal Studies will be recognized
and accepted for my entrance to law school. I am in my 3rd term and that
fact ...Read Full Review |

You get what you put into it |
| BS in Network Technology |
| I am a current IT student at Kaplan University who has been attending for
over 2 years now finishing this October with a Bachelor of Science in
Networking Technology. I consider the price for attending Kaplan relatively
reasonable when you take into account that the price includes all of your
books and software. When you consider the total cost of attending
traditional schools; tuition, books, transportation, etc. the cost of
attending Kaplan is not outrageous.
The academic department at Kaplan is in par with most of the academic
departments at other schools I have attended; the advisor wil...Read Full Review |

Good education not so good customer service |
| Management |
| I graduated from Kaplan with a BS in Management in 2007 and am now in my
master's program at Kaplan. I think it is a great school and a great
academic experience, but I have had problems with Student Accounts for 3
years. The US Army approved tuition payments but Kaplan was not sending
them the invoice nor returning calls left by the Army. The Army complained
to me that the money they had earmarked for me was screwing up their
accounts because they could not pay Kaplan until they got an invoice. Now I
work for an employer who pays 100% of my tuition up front. On JUL 23 my
company sent them a c...Read Full Review |

Beware of tuition costs! |
| Criminal Justice |
| The classes, the work, and the teachers were all wonderful. I did not have
any problems whatsoever with that aspect of Kaplan. I did the 2+2 program,
where I obtained my Associates in Criminal Justice first, then they applied
those courses to my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. It took me 4 years
total to finish. Basically, it is an accelerated course, because you don't
really get any sugstantial time off. I was told I couldn't 'take a break'
because it would set me back in regards to financial aid and my status as a
student! But I moved through it. When I first started, we had 4 quarter...Read Full Review |
