Needs commitment |
| Bachelors in Accounting |
| I am currently enrolled in my last 2 classes with UMUC and will be
receiving my Bachelors Degree in Accounting with a minor in Business
Administration. Every single class with the exception of my Capstone final
class has had a midterm, final, as well as homework, analytical research
papers and group projects that account for your grade. The final grade is
weighted heavily which, for me, has ranged between 20 - 30%. The capstone
class has 6 case papers, an individual paper and a group project but no
midterm or final. This has been my ONLY exception in my entire degree
process. I am not sure wha...Read Full Review |

Not sure about online learning |
| Marketing |
| I personally do not like UMUC. I have done 2 semesters there, and I
discovered it's not for me. I don't like the online format for one thing.
I also don't like how they have one exam at the end of the semester and
that's it. All this weight (usually about a third of your grade) is put
into one test and you have to remember everything you learned over the
semester for this one test. I like Penn State better because they have
midterms and finals, where the midterm covers the material over the first
half of the semester, and the final covers the last half. Some classes
have quizzes at the e...Read Full Review |

Great experience |
| Business |
| I graduated from UMUC in 2004, while still in the Air Force. After leaving
the Air Force I was hired into a federally appointed position as a GS-13,
in large part because of my UMUC education. The education that I received
was top notch. I was then accepted into Grad School at 4 other major
universities (Boston University, Bowling Green State University, Johns
Hopkins, and the University of Cincinnati); scoring very well on my GRE.
Bottom line, employers are looking for those who will represent their
agencies and companies well. UMUC prepares you to take a leadership role. |

Top notch school |
| Masters Homeland Security |
| I just graduated from the Masters of Science in Homeland Security program.
All of the HSMN courses were rigorous and required substantial research,
writing, and interactivity. Group projects were also required in most
classes. The MGMT courses were also quite good - one of my management
professors had received the top professor award a number of years. Two of
the courses required for the degree but taught by professors outside of
either the HSMN or MGMT disciplines were quite poor - in one, the content
was excellent but the responsiveness inadequate. In another, both content
and responsiveness...Read Full Review |

Quality Education |
| Finance |
| I am currently a UMUC finance student and active duty military. I have been
attending this school since 2006 and I have enjoyed my experience. The
flexibility that the online degree program offers is excellent, especially
when you work in a unit with a high ops tempo.
I don't have any complaints as far as the school is concerned: I feel that
I am getting a quality education, most of the professors I've had have
outstanding credentials, and financial aide and student advisory has been
adequate. To be honest, my only concern for the school is outsider
perception. That being said, it appears ...Read Full Review |
