Was going to finish |
| Business |
| I received my Associate Degree from the UOP approx 5 years ago. I contacted
them to go back for my Bachelors Degree Program and I must say, definitely
not the same school. They signed me up for classes BEFORE I confirmed a
start date. They said at least one of my Community College classes would
transfer, I never received confirmation. When I contact them to let them
know I was not going to their school, they asked me to verify my first
class that I was going to start, and I didn't even get a schedule.
For the amount of money it costs to go to this school, not worth the
frustration. |

Quantity Over Quality |
| AA Emphasis on Psychology |
| The phrase, "quantity over quality," never applied more than to the
University of Phoenix. Instructors, academic advisers, financial advisers,
guidance counsellors are lazy, cocky, idiotic, and flat-out liars at times.
The quality of the course work is good if you take the time to read through
it and actually do the work, but the instructors do absolutely nothing. Ask
a question, and they will avoid answering. Question their authority, and
you will literally be laughed at by advisers on the phone. Instructors will
ignore their own course syllabus, incorrectly grade you, and ignore all
response...Read Full Review |

I heart UOPx |
| Psychology |
| I am very happy with my educational experience at UOPx. I am 9 classes
from obtaining my Bachelor's degree and have a 3.82 GPA. I have to say I
really struggled with the math courses but that is because I am not good at
math and needed a tutor. I have had instances where my instructor was not
the best, I have had instances where my learning team members were not team
players. However, I can say that whenever I spoke of the issues I was
having, my academic counselor Joy lived up to her name! She has been
insightful, helpful, encouraging, and wonderful to work with...even when I
was not at ...Read Full Review |

As A student |
| psychology |
| I am a senior at this school and I must say that I have learned absolutely
nothing. There is no consistency at this school and I am truly embarrassed
to say I attend this school. My 2nd year at this school I began talking to
other students and was receiving the same feedback. All of my classmates
stated that if they could they would have transferred, however they would
lose to many credits. Students are being passed that can barely write a
paper. The school uses APA format guidelines to write papers however,
somehow all teachers have their own method of APA and each class the
teacher has to ta...Read Full Review |

Misleading Enrollment Information |
| Masters in Educational Leadership |
| I enrolled in the University with the intention of earning an endorsement
in Educational Leadership. After verifying with my state that the
University had an approved program, I began the enrollment process. Three
separate enrollment counselors insured me that they offered what I was
looking for. The University offered a quick and cost-effective way of
reaching my goals. However, after all was said and done, the University
told me that they could not complete the required paperwork from the state.
After several thousand dollars spent and months of phone calls and emails,
I have been unabl...Read Full Review |

Great school for someone who has no time for school |
| BA e-business |
| I started with axia for an AA in business management and 4 years later I am
3 weeks away from finishing my last class for my BA. I have no time for
school and was always able to squeeze in enough time to find a computer and
get it done in about the same amount of time it likely would have taken me
to get dressed and drive to a campus + fight parking..
I am taking 6 months off and jumping into an MBA! I recommend anyone to
try. It is not just a gift of a degree. My wife tried & did not stick with
it after failing a few of the first few classes. I failed algebra twice and
statistics 3 times b...Read Full Review |

Lots of hard work, but worth it! |
| BS on Campus, MS online |
| This is one school that will not and cannot give out grades for free. They
must be earned. My MS program was very demanding and required an
APA-formatted six-page paper every single week, plus a lot of reading and
class interaction. I learned a great deal, retained a lot, and had a great
experience. I spent 7 years in school, and glad to be done. |

just now graduated with an associates degree in Health Care
Administration/Medical Records. I was able to land a job in Administration
doing Medical Records in a Long Term Care facility with my degree. Like
many of you I read all the negative feedback from this school on how the

I will have my degree soon |
| Bachelors of Science in Business Degree |
| After starting my way to my associates degree in business at UOP I decided
after this I would continue and obtain the degree I have always wanted.
There was a lot of work ahead and I worked so hard to get there. I am
working towards my bachelors of science in business and will be reaching
that in 2011. I am so excited and so overwhelmed the University of Phoenix
made my dreams come true. When I was laid off from my full time job in 2008
I decided this would be the time to look into an on line college. The
University of Phoenix was there for me. They gave me all the support to

The Cost |
| College |
| If you are not sure if you want to continue your education, do not choose
Phoenix. If you do enroll, and change your mind, be ready for a sermon
from your counselors. You can make all the excuses that you want but they
will still keep digging deeper into your business and will not take no for
an aswer until you demand that they cancel your enrollment. Afterwards, it
takes forever before the process of your cancelation is finished. The
amount it cost for their online schooling is absurd. I know that this
review will not be published because it is not positive like they want you
to think that ...Read Full Review |

Higher Education |
| BS Finance |
| I started attending University of Phoenix in 2009 and really have enjoyed
my experience. They have great instructors and great staff members that
help you throughout your experience. They provide class reminder before
every class and are willing to work with you on matters that are within
their control. Classes are very informative and require a lot of reading.
I'm looking forward to the new opportunities that the education will bring
and putting my studies into motion. I would recommend the University to
anyone if they are willing to work for it. |

Only for Self-Motivated |
| aacj |
| I started at UOP about 6 months ago! The classes are fun and informative.
If you are going to go to this college online- you have to be self
motivated- period. There is the same amount of reading that is in local
college. I have found the teachers are professional. They will not just
give you a grade for sure! It is more time than I original thought. I would
say lots of reading and essays! |

Very good |
| MBA |
| I am on my six class for the MBA, and so far I have a great experience.
Instructors are excellent, and the classes are not easy, I really have to
study, do research, have discipline and dedication. The system is very well
designed, and so far I didn't have any problems with counselors and
support. |

Was a student, now an instructor |
| MBA |
| I completed my MBA through UofP online, having previously obtained two
Master's degrees in other areas from traditional brick and mortar schools.
I think I can speak from experience in evaluating the merits and demerits
of an online degree.
There are definitely advantages and disadvantages for obtaining an online
degree. It is convenient, but it takes self discipline to turn in
assignments on time. Some instructors were better than others, but that
should not come as a surprise.
Because of UofP's minimal admissions criteria, some students were not
prepared for the work. I personally did ...Read Full Review |

| Masters in Justice and Security |
| UOP is a decent school if you can just get passed the lazy and incompetent
staffing. The only two good things about this school is that it provides
decent education and excellent instructors. I received a Bachelors in
Criminal Justice and about to Receive a Masters online as well. I found my
time a UOP fulfilling in regards to my education, but frustrated when
dealing with academic and financial councilors, who tend to be nothing but
problems. Most of UOP staffing is made up of UOP students who work part
time while working on their education. During my 4 years of attending UOP,

University of Phoenix Student Reviews |
| Education |
| Bill Gates and Steve Jobs both quit the traditional form of higher
education. The "rating" of a school is often over-rated. Success is about
your insight in your own personality and passion in learning as well as
what you are willing to put into life. UOP is as good or better than any
other universities for providing students guidance. The rest is up to you.
UOP is not for students who want to play the blame game. I found UOP an
excellent non-traditional institution providing me confidence in life and
the doctoral degree I need. Special thanks to UOP founder Dr. John Sperling

University of Phoenix |
| Bachelors in Business |
| UOP can be difficult if you are not use to an online environment,
but the school does deliver an excellent program. I have known
several people who have obtained Bachelors degrees from University
of Phoenix and go into their Masters program. Others decide to
get their Masters from other schools, but the degrees are respected
Some companies dont respect the degree, but many do give it respect.
Remember as more schools get in on the online education
track this stigma will start to vanish. UOP Business program
is very good and brings real world learning experience to the classroom |

| I have had a pleasant experience thus far in my classes. I am on my second

that is the point of taking a college course right? The counselors and
advisers have been exceptionally helpful in my endeavors and the teachers
have been quite responsive to questions or needs. The classes are about
1000 each, which is below what other online universities such as Kaplan
cost, and I have several friends and co-workers who have completed their
degrees with UoP and have had great experiences. It is all in perception

School of Fear |
| BS |
| The University of Phoenix functions under a culture or fear and
intimidation. Students are intimidated into signng up of extra classes
which are not related to their specialization whereas staff if intmidated
into trying to sign up prospective students by hook or by crook. The
faculty is not spared either and professional teachers who try to give the
student's their money's worth in education are often sidelined and insted
preference is given to those who indulge in brown nosing the
administration, even if these teachers may not be good teachers and get
poor reviews from the students.

| I am currently a UOP Online student, and my personal academic experience
with Phoenix has been quite professional in its delivery of quality online
education. I am a BS Psychology student and everything from instructor feed
back to team assignments have been great. It takes a certain kind of
attitude and mind set to attend an higher learning enviornment, and
certainly what you personally put into it you will get out of it regardless

Excellent for those in the adult world where there are jobs, families, etc |
| AAB |
| For those fresh out of high school, this may not be the preference of
obatianing a degree.
If you work or have a family, or any other commitments that just make it
hard for you to get to a classroom on time, this is the best!
I enrolled in Sept. 08 to begin my Associates program. I'm halfway
through, and planning to continue through the Bachelor program with UOP as
well next yr. When I enrolled, I was working full time at an accounting
firm (tax season overtime hours included), a husband, two kids, pets, and a
home to attend to. Hardly leaving ample time to get to a classroom on

Expensive but well worth it |
| Criminal Justice |
| First of all, do not listen to anyone who has not personally attended UOP
for an accurate review. My experience with UOP is as follows. I entered in
Jan. 2009 to complete my bachelors degree in Criminal Justice
Administration. Since then I have had nothing but a positive experience
with UOP. Everyone has been up front about my classes and I hear from one
of my counselors at least once a month asking if I am doing ok, and if I
have any questions. My previous associates degree came from a brick school
and let me tell you UOP is much harder than any brick school I have
attended. You must actually...Read Full Review |

Just okay |
| Business administration |
| I signed up with UoP after attending the local community college for a
couple of years. I was frustrated with traditional classrooms for a couple
of reasons: 1. I could easily sit in a classroom and listen to lectures and
never study. I would get A's and B's without much effort. 2. It was
irritating to sit through a three hour class that could be covered in half
the time.
I have had a pretty positive experience with UoP. Academic counselors call
often, I have had no problems with financial aid. For those who complain
about teachers not being supportive or emotionally involved I would have t...Read Full Review |

No good |
| Masters in Management |
| I am attending UoP in a masters program. I have one associate degree from a
state school, one associate degree from a community college, a bachelor
degree from a state school, and I have taken various courses from other
colleges, including Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), The University
of Texas at Dallas (UTD, and The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). I
actually left UTD to attend UoP because of misleading by the guidance staff
and the obvious student cheating that went unobserved.
I have discovered that the same attitude permeates our educational system.

Not worth the effort |
| Education |
| A few caveats if you are enrolling online:
Both UoP and Axia base participation on posting responses online. Generally
it will take you more time to type your responses than it would to speak
them in class. This burden works against both student and faculty. If you
actually put effort into the assignments, you will need to spend much more
than 4-6 hours per week doing the work.
There is a definite disconnect between the instructor and student. The
instructors teach via a template and have difficulty deviating from
scheduled assignments or modifying it to their own pedagogical style. As a...Read Full Review |

Good not great |
| Information Technology |
| As far as UoP goes, it is an easy school hands down. I have been attending
UoP for the last two years and I graduate in five weeks. Like I said UoP is
easy, but it is also time consuming and I have learned a lot. I would not
be able to complete the assignments if I did not learn the material. I have
attended both a Big Bend Community College and Washington State University
prior to starting at UoP. My employer actually asked me if I wanted to go
to UoP so that I can work full time and go to school at the same time. They
offered to pay for the whole degree, and they are even offering to pay for...Read Full Review |

| As my wife begins to look into graduate schools, it reminded me of my own
experience earning my MBA a couple of years ago through the University of
Phoenix Online. I was further reminded of my past studes as I was ask
questions about the program during a job interview last week.
Here's the thing with UOP Online, it doesn't have the same stature of
Harvard or Yale, but you do get a good solid education if you are willing
to put the work in. I don't know what employers think of when they see the
school on the ol' resume, but I am pretty satisfied with the education I

A flexible learning atmosphere that may be confusing to some |
| criminal justice |
| At the time when I attending the University of Phoenix back in 2003, I was
a full-time student and a full-time employee at an airline. I was hoping to
expand my horizons by obtaining a degree in Criminal Justice, hoping one
day I might be able to work as a police officer.
I have to admit, the price immediately made me think twice about attending
at first. When I finally did decide to attend, I paid cash for my classes
and my books (which was INCREDIBLY hard on my budget) and dove head first
into the term of one class without the help of an adviser to guide me

| I have been going to University of Phoenix now for about 9 months. It's
been over 20+ years since I last went to college and I was apprehensive
about it in the first place and uncertain about online courses.
It has turned out to be a good experience, I have enjoyed my courses so

didn't have the time to sit in a classroom after working all day. For me,
coming home and spending each night online fit my lifestyle. My wife was
extremely supportive during the 2 years I spent online and more or less

the time to drive to and from a real campus. After I began the program I
was able to continue even though I became pregnant. I took a short break
when I had the baby, and because everything was online, was still able to

| Having decided to go back to school and get a Bachelor's degree in
Information Technology the choices of schools was huge. Hind sight is
20/20 but at the time, University of Phoenix was what I had went with for
many reasons.
The first and foremost reason was that I being 38 at the time did not wish
to attend school online or on campus with a group of young people. Nothing
against the younger generations, I personally just did not feel that I
would feel comfortable as the "old" woman in class. So the fact that
