Experienced student at Walden |
| Human Services PhD Program |
| I earned my Masters Of Public Administration in 2009 (December). I am
currently in a PhD program Human Services with concentration of Clinical
Social Work. I have experience in Juvenile Justice and Child Protective
Services in 2 different states so that really helped me get into the
program without having to have the MSW.
Textbooks are the students responsibility and if you dont have the money
you can submit for a 500.00 book loan that will come out of you fin.
aid/student loans. Online is not for everyone. You have to be a motivated
person. I work a full time job with overtime and on call ...Read Full Review |

Attending an online college is not for everyone |
| Masters in Nursing |
| After looking at many options, I decided on Walden University for my
Master's of Nursing degree. I am starting my second semester and thus far
it is working out perfectly for me. I have read some of the negative
reviews and I am not sure how or why they have had such experiences at
Walden. It is shocking to me. I do not have a single bad experience to
report. Many folks sounds as if maybe they were not able to be successful
at Walden so they have blamed their failure on Walden instead of taking the
responsibility.
I do believe that I under estimated the amount of time it was going to
consum...Read Full Review |

You Get What You Put Into It |
| Online MBA Degree |
| I recently graduated from Walden University with an MBA and overall am very
pleased with the experience. I will say that there is quite a large amount
of information I did not retain due to the extreme fast pace of the
program. Yet, I was able to keep many of the textbooks and will probably
brush up if and when necessary for my work.
I wasn't too thrilled with the quality of the instructors. They had
impressive career backgrounds, but lacked in the skills necessary to make a
good professor. Oftentimes they were also condescending which I find
inexcusable, especially given the fact that ...Read Full Review |

Excellent experience but be prepared |
| PhD in Business |
| n completed my doctorate at Walden in March, 2010. Unlike most students, I
decided to pursue it full-time. I have no idea how anyone could complete
this doctorate part-time in any reasonable period of time. It took me just
under three years to complete and I understand the average is 5.9 years. I
also estimate that well under 20% of those who start their doctoral degree
at Walden actually complete it. In my cohort, there is only four of us left
from roughly 20. The greatest complaint I have is the acceptance process.
The reality is that the 80% of the students that drop out should have never

Challenging and engaging |
| Masters in Psychology |
| I graduated with an MS in General Psychology in December 2007. Overall, my
experience at Walden was rigorous. Courses were in-depth and challenging
and expectations were exceptionally high. Some students interpret this as
"rude" or "unsupportive"; however, it is meant to raise the students'
academic performance. Profs were accessible via email and offered contact
via phone. Most of my profs provided useful feedback on coursework in a
timely fashion. Walden offered a survey at the end of each course to allow
students to rate their course experience.
Coursework at Walden is self-directed. Yo...Read Full Review |

No support |
| Healthcare |
| I am a student at Walden University and I must say that starting off, the
school is fine with regard to the courses. You will get some instructors
that are a little more harsh and not welcoming and that takes away from the
learning experience but I think that most people can push through that and
hope to not get the same instructor twice. My problem is with the
administration. It is not easy getting help and they seem a bit
disorganized. They pass you from one department to the next, over and over
again and what it comes down to is that no body knows the answers and seems
to be able to assist ...Read Full Review |

Welcome to the Walden Nightmare |
| General Psychology |
| You go to their website that was created to instill some type of inert
pride concerning your potential as a mover and shaker of the world. They
refer to their students as scholar/practitioners, a high minded concept
evoking visions of change for the better. They invite you to their
movie-laced world, where higher education holds the promise of a utopian
society, filled with happiness. Similar to a television commercial for
prescription drugs.
Yet some don’t quite make it to the Walden version of paradise. Or their
adventure along the way is filled with a special nightmare that only
bureaucr...Read Full Review |
