An associate of arts or
associate of science degree is generally a two-year degree
made up of three parts: general education requirements, major
requirements, and electives. It is made up of 60 credit hours,
which you can complete over two years - full-time or online.
To enroll in an associate’s degree program, you have
to be a high school graduate or a holder of a General Education
Development (GED) certificate. Some schools also require applicants
to be at least 17 years of age.
Associate’s degrees are available in a wide variety
of subjects, and for many students, are the first step towards
a bachelor’s or master’s degree in their decided
